What Our Attendees are Saying

Our camps are designed specifically to bring parents closer to their children, and ultimately strengthen familial bonds.

Feedback from our attendees is invaluable to us, and to you, to understand first-hand how the program affected them.

“After telling me he would not go, my wife basically pushed my son out the door to go to camp. The first night he told me it was stupid and he wished he was playing xbox. After the ropes course, painting at a women's shelter with other boys his age and a polar plunge my son was all in. And it just got better from there. It has been a long time since we have connected like that. Life tends to erode connections and relationships. BridgeCamp reinvigorated us and our relationship. I wish there were more opportunities like this to connect in such a meaningful way.

— August 2022 Attendee on how his son changed while at camp

“The camp was helpful for us to connect on a personal level not available on a day to day basis. It brought us out of our day to day lives and into an environment not familiar with... and ability to do activities not available to us. We were able to talk about subjects not discussed regularly in our family, and let us express our feelings in a non-judgmental environment.

— August 2022 attendee, on what was most beneficial to him while at camp

Although I have ridden horses a lot, I had never done anything like that. It was a very unique experience. I liked it enough that I have scheduled for my wife and daughter to do it in a few weeks.”

— August 2022 attendee, discussing the REINS Equine Center service project

The first night my son asked to go back to the truck to play games. By the last night he was fully engaged and loved talking and hearing others experiences. It was great to talk about our experiences and open up and connect in a meaningful way.

— August 2022 Attendee, discussing the nightly fireside discussions and end-of-day chats

Camp proved to be a great way to bond to your child and also to push the boundaries of our own abilities. It also allowed us to show our boys that we are also human.
