Mothers and Daughters Camp

Our inaugural event focusing on the power and importance of the bond between mothers and daughters.

September, 2023 || Camp Oakley in Weber, Utah || 2375 South Fork Canyon Road, Kamas, UT 84036

What did we do at the event?

Our first mother-daughter camp was a tremendous success. The camp was pristine, the skies were clear, and the weather was perfect (other than some near-freezing temperatures at night).

We tried a slightly different schedule, kicking things off on a Friday evening and finishing up on Sunday morning. It was just the right amount of time to accomplish BridgeCamp’s goals, while also not taking busy moms and daughters away from their responsibilities for too long.

Our first night was spent getting to know one another while having fireside discussions under the stars about self-awareness, relationships, and active listening. Oh…. and smores of course!

After breakfast on the first morning, we took part in a great service project helping trim trees and pick weeds around Camp Oakley; it is always a pleasure serving our community together. Camp Oakley offers their amazing facility and grounds to so many groups for an incredibly low price. We love Camp Oakley!

After the service project, we enjoyed two full hours of self-defense and basic combat training from Julia Waterman, who was spectacular! She has over a decade of experience with Jiu Jitsu and works closely with the Smart Defense Program and other groups as a teacher and trainer. It was the perfect activity to start the adventure portion of the camp.

Following lunch, participants experienced a series of outdoor adventures and activities such as meditation and breathwork, fishing, hiking, and other activities that are specially designed to create opportunities for bonding and relationship-building.

After some free time, volleyball, an ice-bath-plunge, and dinner, we finished our day with a great fireside chat about the day and what was learned from the various activities. We also had a drum circle and smores, which is always a perfect way to wrap up the day.

We met briefly Sunday morning for breakfast and one final activity, then said our goodbyes.

We could not have asked for more amazing participants and we were so delighted to get to know these wonderful moms and their daughters. We consider it an immense privilege that they would come spend a few days with us at BridgeCamp, and we hope and trust it was as impactful for them as it was for us!

We can’t wait to announce our schedule for next year - stay tuned!
